Friday, July 4: LOCATION UPDATE! 6th Annual July Fourth Spange-Dangle:A Star Spangled Celebration in Johnson City, Texas! The Johnson City Chamber of Commerce 6th Annual Spange Dangle 4th of July fireworks and events have been changed to the Blanco County Fairgrounds due to the extreme dry conditions. The parade will begin at 11am on its usual route around the Blanco County Courthouse - this is the parade that everyone is invited to be in! After the parade, make your way down to the Fairgrounds for adult and kid activities, live music, food booths and vendor booths and good old fashioned neighbor visiting. Mike Clifford is an Austin, TX – based singer-songwriter whose music has been described as a cross between Texas honky-tonk and California country-rock. He has released 3 successful self-produced albums, charted 4 consecutive radio singles on the Texas Music Chart, and has been nominated for two Texas Music Awards (Male Vocalist Of The Year in 2005 and Record Of The Year in 2007). He and his band currently perform regularly all over the state of Texas.
Hailing from the Appalachian foothills of Virginia, Mike Clifford’s music ranges from Johnny Cash to the Eagles to Rodney Crowell. A Texas resident since 1991, Clifford has performed well over 2000 gigs in the Lone Star State. His band’s latest CD “The Heartbreak Grill And Bar” has received glowing reviews from The Dallas Morning News, Killeen Daily Herald, Roots Music Report, Best In Texas magazine, Texas Music Times, and a number of other print and online publications.
